Judi Health, Employers Health Launch StarkRx PBM Solution - pbm solution
StarkRx integrates with direct-to-consumer platforms like Amazon, emphasizing transparency, choice, and adaptability.

Judi Health and Employers Health have partnered to launch StarkRx, a new pharmacy benefit management solution. The modular, cost-plus model utilizes Judi Health’s Judi Rx infrastructure, providing pass-through and acquisition cost-based pharmacy reimbursement, independent prior authorization, and formularies that prioritize generics and biosimilars with the lowest net cost. This approach ensures cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality care, addressing the growing need for affordable medication options in the healthcare industry.

Focus on Transparency and Flexibility

StarkRx integrates with direct-to-consumer platforms like Amazon, emphasizing transparency, choice, and adaptability. According to Kristin Begley, Pharm.D., chief commercial officer of Judi Health, the model enables Employers Health to incorporate top-tier partners as needed, ensuring the pharmacy benefit adapts to employer requirements without sacrificing accountability or member experience. Begley further explained to Managed Healthcare Executive that this unique model allows for a full PBM solution while maintaining flexibility, a critical aspect in the ever-evolving healthcare system.

Officials from Employers Health highlighted that StarkRx is designed from the cumulative experiences of plan sponsors in purchasing pharmacy benefits over three decades. A spokesperson explained that plan sponsors seek affordability, predictability, and an easy patient experience with access to exceptional tools. Through StarkRx, Employers Health has curated relationships anchored by the Judi Health platform to deliver on these needs.

Enhanced Services and Strategic Alliances

Plan sponsors will gain access to Employers Health’s account management, data analytics, managed care pharmacists, and legal experts specializing in pharmacy benefit management. These resources are designed to streamline operations and provide actionable insights, enabling sponsors to make informed decisions. The solution also includes a partnership with Quantum Health for healthcare navigation services.

This collaboration builds on Judi Health’s evolution, including the rebranding of Capital Rx to Judi Rx in July 2026 and the expansion of its technology platform to include medical, dental, and vision benefits. The rebranding reflects Judi Health’s commitment to innovation and its vision for a unified healthcare experience.

Judi Health has expanded its clinical partner ecosystem with new partnerships with Color Health, WellTheory, and Cylinder. These alliances enhance the platform’s capabilities, offering specialized care solutions such as virtual cancer clinics, autoimmune condition management, and gastrointestinal care. Other Judi Health solutions include Sword Health’s AI-powered musculoskeletal care and Progyny’s personalized fertility and family-building services. These expansions consolidate claims adjudication, prior authorization, and patient communications on a unified platform, which was initially introduced in 2021 as a pharmacy plan management tool.
