At 49, Sarah Michelle Gellar is inspiring fans with her rigorous fitness routine. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star recently shared a glimpse of her full-body workout on Instagram, showcasing her dedication to both physical and mental health. Gellar, who is set to star in the upcoming mystery series Bad Summer People, based on the 2023 novel, continues to impress with her disciplined approach to fitness.
Gellar’s routine, led by coach Tadeusz Gauer, includes exercises like lat pulldowns, knees to elbows, and standing cable chest presses. She also uses resistance bands and battle ropes to target multiple muscle groups, emphasizing core strength and overall stamina. Her workouts are designed to challenge her entire body, ensuring a balanced and effective training regimen.
In her Instagram post, Gellar explained that her workouts are “not just about getting my body in shape. It’s also about my mind.” This holistic approach resonates deeply with her 5 million-plus followers, who admire her unwavering commitment and the visible results of her efforts.
Gellar’s workout begins with lat pulldowns, targeting her lats, upper back, and biceps. She uses a V-Bar attachment to maximize muscle engagement. She then transitions to knees to elbows, utilizing a core stability board and wobble board to engage her entire body, including her torso, arms, and legs. The standing cable chest press follows, requiring her to maintain core control and time under tension while using a straight bar.
Resistance bands add intensity to her sit-ups, increasing the force required from her upper body, lower body, core, and back. She concludes with face pulls, which highlight her deltoids and trapezius, showcasing her upper body strength. For a final push, Gellar tackles battle ropes, boosting her grip strength and stamina while delivering a full-body blast.
